Building on the competition platform, GODA promotes the development model of "R&D in China's Major Innovation Hubs + Integration in Guangxi + Application in ASEAN." Through industrial design, it empowers industrial upgrading and regional collaboration, contributing to the building of a closer China–ASEAN Community with a Shared Future.
Q
What are the mission and vision of GODA?
A
The mission of GODA is to accelerate the development of a collaborative model integrating “R&D in China's Major Innovation Hubs + Integration in Guangxi + Application in ASEAN.” It aims to drive innovation through application scenarios, activate industrial transformation through design, and connect the future through intelligent manufacturing. The vision is to build an internationally influential industrial design award that promotes coordinated design development across Guangxi and ASEAN regions.
Q
What are the three competition tracks of GODA?
A
GODA consists of three competition tracks: Guangxi Products Renewal Track, ASEAN Application Track and Public Creativity Track. The Guangxi Products Renewal Track focuses on Guangxi’s ten modern manufacturing pillar industries and county-level specialty industries, promoting the deep integration of industrial design and industry to support the upgrading of “Guipin” (Guangxi products). The ASEAN Application Track adopts the same six categories as the Guangxi Products Renewal Track and provides a streamlined “one-click selection and parallel evaluation” submission process. It aims to identify high-quality design outcomes that directly support ASEAN industrial upgrading and improve livelihoods. The Public Creativity Track is open to the general public, university students, and young creators, aiming to stimulate widespread creativity and public participation.
Q
What categories are included in the three tracks?
A
Both the Guangxi products Renewal Track and ASEAN Application Track include Product Design and Concept Design categories. The Public Creativity Track includes Concept Design only. Applicants may select the appropriate track based on their submission.
Q
What do the different GODA awards represent?
A
Grand Award: The highest honor of GODA, representing outstanding excellence in industrial design and comprehensive embodiment of the award’s core values.
Gold Award: Recognizes outstanding design excellence across categories.
Excellence Award: Honors high-quality design solutions with strong performance in detail and execution.
ASEAN Application Award: Recognizes designs that are highly adapted to ASEAN climates, markets, and cultural contexts, with strong feasibility and commercialization potential.
Public Creativity Award: Honors innovative and original design concepts from the general public and academic communities with strong creativity and communication potential.
Finalist Award: Recognizes entries that meet the evaluation criteria and advance to the final selection stage.
Q
What should participants consider during the design process?
A
Participants should comprehensively consider six key evaluation dimensions: innovation, culture, functionality, aesthetics, commercial value, and adaptability, in order to fully reflect the design quality and industrial value of their entries. Applicants must also prepare required text, images, and video materials according to the submission checklist, and ensure all entries are submitted before the deadline. Participants should carefully follow all key dates, including submission deadlines and evaluation schedules.
Q
What are the evaluation criteria of GODA?
A
The GODA evaluation system is based on a comprehensive assessment framework covering innovation, cultural value, functionality, aesthetics, commercial value, and adaptability. For the ASEAN Application Track, an additional criterion of ASEAN contextual adaptability is included. The jury consists of one Judge President and a panel of internationally recognized experts. The Product Group follows a three-stage evaluation process: Preliminary Evaluation, Second Evaluation, and Final Evaluation. Through a fair, transparent, and professional evaluation system, the competition selects outstanding industrial design works from around the world.

If none of these conditions applies and you have not received the returned work, please contact the Organizing Committee promptly.
Q

A
The Organizing Committee shall handle the receipt, dispatch, and custody of entries solely in accordance with the verified inventory list. In the event that any accessories are found to be missing, the participant is requested to photograph the received entry without delay for evidentiary purposes and to contact the Organizing Committee immediately. Additionally, under applicable Chinese regulations governing air cargo and sea freight, articles containing batteries are not permitted for export shipment. Batteries must be removed prior to return shipping; accordingly, entries with built‑in batteries may be unable to be returned.
